Outer London car journeys set to increase by one million each week

Research undertaken by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) has identified 450 proposed development sites in London's Green Belt, largely outside the Greater London boundary. Barnet Council proposal to stop separate household food waste collection (3)

  • Reference: 2018/1755
  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 19 July 2018
The reason that Barnet Council had reportedly given for scrapping their separate household food waste collection is: "excessive additional costs." However, the additional cost of sending food waste to incinerators where the gate fees are significantly higher compared to anaerobic digestion, seems to suggest the savings are minimal. Will you ask Barnet Council for details of these alleged savings?
