  • Reference: 2019/8793
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 16 May 2019
The data in response to Question No. 2019/4065 shows that almost 12% of those who entered the external entry detective scheme in 2017/18 left within 12 months, while over 4% of the 2018/19 cohort left within 12 months. Is there any information available from their exit interviews which would show any common themes for why they choose to leave?

Freedom of Speech

  • Reference: 2019/6146
  • Question by: Peter Whittle
  • Meeting date: 21 March 2019
I was troubled to learn of the arrest of Christian street preacher Oluwole Ilesanmi outside Southgate Underground Station on 23 February 2019. Having viewed the arrest on social media and the confiscation of his Bible, I understand he was then taken five miles away by police car and dumped in Wrotham Park. I am disappointed that any members of the Metropolitan Police would think it appropriate to behave in this manner. What is your view of the actions taken by the police on this particular occasion?
