Given the huge concerns about this that are now growing locally, and you cannot dismiss those, this should be a matter for a public inquiry. Why can you not put this project back and accept the results of the public inquiry as part of the open democratic process?

Further to that, do we not also recognise that there are serious costs to London's economy in terms of firms and investors choosing not to locate here because of the levels of congestion and the additional cost that incurs to the operation of their businesses?

A separate issue on the bonds. At the end of the day, and with a lot of detailed questioning, it is right, and I am sure Mr Critchley can agree, that the ultimate guarantor of the debt is who?

Why did we have this curious split yesterday with Mr Kiley obviously enthusiastic about it and talking about the trials that are taking place and the fact that it was just the round the corner on offer for the whole of London's pinch-points, and why did you, Mayor, go out of your way yesterday to say you knew hardly anything about it and quite honestly it was nothing that was going to happen in the next decade at the very least?

In those negotiations it would be good to know what the value was of the Travelcards that are given. Why cannot TfL manage to have a calculation on the value? Surely it is possible to have such a calculation?
