Parking at Large Developments (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
Are you saying no to further retail developments of this type?

Parking at Large Developments (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Bob Blackman
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
I think the clear concern from a lot of people in suburban London now is that because of the impact of a lot of other policies you have followed, car-parking around stations in residential streets is severely impacting on people's lives. If you provide car-parking at stations instead, which is secure and as an alternative, then that represents a sensible way of encouraging people who commute into London to park securely and not impact on local residents.

Carbon Reduction Targets (Supplementary) [5]

  • Question by: Roger Evans
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
Is your agenda a car-free London?

Carbon Reduction Targets (Supplementary) [4]

  • Question by: Roger Evans
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
I notice your deputy (Nicky Gavron AM) is raising her hand, possibly to correct you here because she actually is quoted as saying that your agenda is a car-free London, and as your climate change spokesperson perhaps she should know what she is talking about?

Carbon Reduction Targets (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Roger Evans
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
No, the question to the Mayor is: Why did the Deputy Mayor disagree with the answer which you just gave?

Carbon Reduction Targets (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Darren Johnson
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
I agree with that. The 20% target was only published in your energy strategy just over two years ago, so things have obviously gone wrong in two years. What additional measures will now be needed in London to make up for the shortfall which as you rightly argue is down to Government failure rather than London's failure?

Carbon Reduction Targets (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Roger Evans
  • Meeting date: 17 April 2006
Is your failure to achieve this target and your need to get it back on track the reason for your suggesting recently that you would like to increase the Congestion Charge to £10?

Police Station Costs (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Richard Barnes
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2006
I think we should be grateful the MPS has demonstrated it can avoid answering a question. It actually answers the specific one that is there rather than endeavours to impart information. We all recognise, Mr Mayor, that there will be a difference in cost between the borough headquarters, complete with its car park and cells and whatever else, and the front stations that most Londoners will visit. Are you content that the number and the opening hours of police stations across London are sufficient?

European Union Equal Treatment Directive (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Brian Coleman
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2006
Will you be forgoing a day's pay?

Agreement on supply of local energy solutions with EDF Energy (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Peter Hulme Cross
  • Meeting date: 22 March 2006
The parent of EDF is French and it produces enormous amounts of nuclear energy. When you were at the Greater London Council (GLC), you declared famously London to be a nuclear-free zone. If you will pardon my phraseology, you are now getting into bed with a company that bases its supply of power on nuclear energy.
