Areas of Responsibility (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Neil Garratt
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Neil Garratt AM: I am sure in your capacity as Mayor and as Chair of TfL you will have seen the traffic problems - traffic chaos, people might say - and the wall of buses in Streatham, which has been causing all sorts of problems for people. The Times reported that a bus that used to take 11 minutes to get through Streatham is now taking 45 minutes. That is assuming that passengers manage to make it all the way through Streatham and that the bus is not curtailed and they are not all kicked off if the bus has...

Areas of Responsibility (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Lord Bailey of Paddington AM: Good morning, Mayor. I want to ask you about your responsibility around housing, which is of course one of your biggest responsibilities. As part of those responsibilities, you have a Council House [Homes] Acquisition Programme (CHAP) and I want to start by asking you, is that programme focused on properties that are already vacant?

Areas of Responsibility (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Nick Rogers
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Nick Rogers AM: T hank you, Chair. Good morning, Mr Mayor. I have a question for you in your capacity as Chair of TfL. Last week the Port of London Authority in partnership with the Thames Estuary Growth Board published an interesting report recommending three electric ferry crossings in east London. Have you seen that report and what do you make of those recommendations?

New Year's Resolution (Supplementary) [4]

  • Question by: Susan Hall
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Susan Hall AM: Thank you. Diddly squat? Diddly squat? A £21 billion budget; I hardly would call that diddly squat. Look at just yesterday and you got £235 million from [The Rt Hon] Mark Harper [MP, Secretary of State for Transport], or our boroughs did. Thank goodness they are giving it mainly to the boroughs because it cannot be squandered by you. But all I would say to you, Mr Mayor, is that anybody that regards a budget of £21 billion as diddly squat really has no understanding at all of money. Thank you, Chair.

New Year's Resolution (Supplementary) [3]

  • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Len Duvall AM: Thank you, Chair. Talking of new year resolutions, will you resolve to continue to lobby the Government to provide proper funding for London rather than relying on increased council tax in order to support vital public services which are all facing unprecedented pressures?

New Year's Resolution (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Zack Polanski
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Zack Polanski AM: T hank you, Chair. On new year’s resolutions, what will be your relationship or the nature of your relationship with United Airlines in the future?

New Year's Resolution (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Caroline Russell
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Caroline Russell AM: Thank you, Chair. As my new year resolution for City Hall, I think we can all agree that the office of the Mayor of London should not be for sale in the new year. I made public earlier this week that United Airlines secured free publicity and final sign off on City Hall materials in exchange for business class flights for your trip to the United States [of America] (USA) in May 2022. Now, Mr Mayor, it sounds like this may have been a one-off error of judgement, but the months-long delay in responding to our questions...

Oral update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [2]

  • Question by: Joanne McCartney
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Joanne McCartney AM: Yes, thank you, Mr Mayor. I am going to raise the Piccadilly line again. Part of the capital that you requested was to complete phase one of the Piccadilly line, which is the 94 new trains that are due to start arriving from 2025. Do we know whether there is sufficient money to ensure that those are on track and will be delivered?

Oral update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [1]

  • Question by: Elly Baker
  • Meeting date: 21 December 2023
Elly Baker AM: Thank you, M r Mayor, and yes, I am glad that money has come through, but it was only half the money that TfL requested and that was only for the essential projects that TfL feels are needed for London. As you say, I am aware that TfL is working through the impact of that. We questioned them at Budget and Performance Committee on Tuesday and therefore that will come out shortly, hopefully. But I really would like to ask, from your point of view, is there a danger that considering that is £250 million under what...
