Security of power supplies, infectious diseases and transport disruption have been identified as potential risks facing London this winter.
The London Resilience Forum ensures London’s preparedness in the event of emergencies and coordinates the activities of a wide range of organisations to achieve this.
The London Assembly Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee will meet tomorrow to examine London’s preparedness for potential risks in the city this winter.
The Committee will also hold a Q&A session with the London Fire Commissioner after an independent review found that the London Fire Brigade (LFB) is "institutionally misogynist and racist" [1].
The guests are:
From 10am to 10.30am:
- Andy Roe, London Fire Commissioner
- Baroness Twycross, Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience
From 10.30am onwards:
- John Hetherington, Head of London Resilience Group
- Glynn Barton, Chief Operating Officer (interim), Transport for London (TfL)
- Dr Yvonne Young, Acting Deputy Director for Health Protection London, UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA)
- Martin Machray, Executive Director of Performance, NHS England – London
- Bill d'Albertanson, Emergency Planning Manager, UK Power Networks
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 29 November 2022 from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
