More than 12,000 Section 21 claims in London over the past year - Sem Moema AM

Responding to Ministry of Justice figures showing there were 12,024 no fault eviction claims in London in the past year, Sem Moema AM, London Assembly Labour spokesperson for Housing and Planning, said:

“Almost 5 years ago, the government promised us the end of No-Fault evictions. Instead, we have seen a record number of Londoners being forced to move through no fault of their own with no timeline for when they’ll see Section 21 evictions end.

“Combined with soaring rents and a cost of living crisis, London’s 3 million renters spend each day without the security of a stable home.

“We cannot delay this any further. Ministers must honour their promise to renters implement a complete ban on No-Fault evictions.”
