Draft Updated West London Waste Plan
Consultation on the Draft Plan (Regulation 18)
This consultation is now closed.
Background
In 2015, the west London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames along with the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) published a Joint Waste Plan (known as the West London Waste Plan 2015 (External link)) which set out a planning strategy for the management of waste across West London.
These seven West London Waste Planning Authorities have now commenced the review of the West London Waste Plan to ensure that it remains up to date and continues to provide a sound and effective planning strategy for waste management in accordance with national policy, the London Plan, and local priorities.
It is a statutory requirement to produce an up-to-date waste plan. Once adopted, the updated West London Waste Plan will replace the 2015 version of the West London Waste Plan. It will set out the planning strategy for waste management in the plan area up to 2041 and will include policies to be used when assessing planning applications that relate to waste management. It will also identify sites proposed to be safeguarded for waste use.
