Join us in the stunning surrounds of Southwark Cathedral for the Mayor of London’s annual Christmas Carol Service. This year’s event honours the centenary of the end of World War One and 100 years since the first women in the UK got the right to vote.

Leading women from across London have been invited to deliver the readings at this years’ service, as part of the Mayor’s #BehindEveryGreatCity campaign to mark the achievement of women in London since 1918.

The service will be conducted by The Very Revd Andrew Nunn, Dean of Southwark in the presence of The Rt Hon and Rt Revd Dame Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London. The Mayor, Sadiq Khan, will offer his Christmas message to Londoners and there will also be 2 choirs, Southwark Cathedral Girls' Choir and Gloriana - Women in Harmony performing traditional carols at the service, which you'll be invited to join in too.

Book your free ticket now. Entry on the night is on a first come, first served basis. A ticket does not guarantee you a seat, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. You’ll need to show us your ticket on your mobile device or bring your printed ticket along to gain entry. Please allow additional time for advanced security checks on arrival. Doors open at 6:15pm at the main churchyard gates.

An induction loop system is installed for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Two British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters will be present during the service as well as in picture screens.

Level Access

The accessible entrance to the Cathedral is via the Churchyard main gates on Cathedral Street.

Accessible toilets

There is an accessible lift and 2 accessible toilets inside the Cathedral.
