This event is organised by Peabody

We will be planting 4000 bare root trees at Birchmere park to increase the range of species to create an urban forest. We will also be staking the trees and placing guards around the trees once planted, and mulching the ground.

What to Bring

Please wear clothing suitable for the autumn weather conditions and wellies or old footwear you don't mind getting muddy. We advise people to bring a packed lunch with them if they want to stay out all day. All tools will be provided

Accessibility

Free parking nearby and toilets on site but may require a fair walk to get to. Tree planting sites will require volunteers to walk across grassed areas to reach the locations

Finding the Event

Closest Train Station is Abbey Wood Station. Catch the B11 bus from Abbey Wood Station to Hartslock Drive stop. Walk to Southmere Park 5 minutes. Walk from Abbey Wood Station to Southmere Park 20 minutes
