WaterAid is hosting a cooking event featuring a special menu on the theme of water scarcity and climate change in both Ghana and London. The event will be a personal way to hold a conversation around how climate change disproportionately affects people living in developing countries.

One of the most relatable ways to demonstrate people’s interaction with water and hygiene is through food and cookery. With food choices directly related to available water supplies and diets having a major impact on water security, the event will demonstrate the close relationship between water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and culture.

Bringing guests around a table, to enjoy a meal inspired by Ghana and grown in London, localises a global issue. Doing this we hope will fuel a broader conversation about how social inequalities, water access and climate change coalesce and spark ideas to mitigate their worst impacts through political action.
