Key information

Date: Wednesday 03 July 2019

Time: 8:00am to 11:00am

Venue: ROYAL INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS, CHATHAM HOUSE, 10 ST JAMES'S SQUARE, SW1Y 4LE, GB

This event considers how we use the rhythm set by Paris to create new models of diplomacy to build momentum for greater and more urgent action and ambition. 2020 is the first “ratchet moment” and the world needs to see evidence that pledges made in Paris are being implemented and countries are preparing to do more.

‘Ambition’ is a subjective term: This event takes a more concrete look at what we mean by ambition, what is counts as enough ambition from select countries, and what evidence we need to see of implementation to collectively agree that the Paris Agreement is working and national governments are serious about decarbonising and rewiring their economies.

This is a public event, with an audience made up of embassies, journalists, political parties, think tanks and NGOs.
