This joint Chatham House, E3G and Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) event will consider the UK’s domestic progress and its international influence on coal phase-out. The discussion will explore the UK’s recent experience, moving from a coal-dominated power system to the UK’s first #CoalFreeFortnight, and its pathway to completely coal-free power by 2025. It will also explore opportunities for global influence through diplomacy, finance, policy, and technical knowledge exchange, in partnership with international and private sector speakers from the PPCA and beyond.
