The London Ambulance Service (LAS), enjoys widespread public support, according to a recent London Assembly Health Committee survey. However, the Committee is keen to ensure transparency of the Service’s decision making and policies.

After a meeting at City Hall today the LAS has agreed to meet the Health Committee on a regular basis so that elected Assembly Members can both support the work of the LAS and raise any concerns.

Dr Onkar Sahota AM, Chair of the Health Committee, said:

'Londoners are rightly proud of the London Ambulance Service which has coped with increasing demand on its services for years.

'We very much welcome the Service’s agreement to meet the committee to discuss any issues and concerns regularly in the future.

'We hope to work together to ensure that all Londoners get the ambulance service they deserve and that the ambulance service in turn is supported in its vital work.'
