London is tackling a patchwork of hotspots and “not-spots” that leaves the capital lagging behind competitor cities and some UK rural areas.
One of the goals in the Mayor’s 2018 Smarter London Together roadmap[1] is to create world class digital connectivity.
The ambition is to make London “the world’s smartest city”, leveraging the capital’s status as a global tech hub.
Tomorrow the London Assembly Regeneration Committee will ask: What progress has been made since the roadmap was introduced?
The Committee will examine the progress of the Smarter London Together targets and will ask how becoming a smart city could affect London’s prosperity and growth.
The following guests will attend:
- Theo Blackwell, Chief Digital Officer, GLA
- Sara Kelly, Principal Policy Officer for Digital Connectivity, GLA
- Shashi Verma, Chief Technology Officer & Director of Customer Experience, TfL
- Cllr Jonathan Glanz, Gig Economy and Broadband Champion, City of Westminster
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 8 May at 10.00am in the Chamber, City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via the webcast and on our YouTube channel.
