- London & Partners (L&P) is the official promotional company for London, promoting London and attracting businesses, students and visitors to the capital
- The Mayor has now confirmed L&P’s budget for 2018-19 at £13.7 million .1 This is an increase of £1.8 million from the previous year.
The London Assembly has often criticised the lack of openness and transparency of L&P’s operations and decision-making processes, for example the reticence to publish minutes of meetings and the pay of senior executives.
The organisation is making some key changes in approach from its previous strategy. They include:
- A shift in focus towards retaining existing businesses and individuals who may be considering leaving London.
- Limiting L&P's focus to just five key international markets: North America, France, Germany, China and India.
- Five new overseas offices will open, but others will close.
Tomorrow, the Budget & Performance Committee will question L&P chiefs on what their increased budget will achieve as it implements its new three-year strategy.
The following guests will answer questions:
- Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Mayor for Business and Chair of London & Partners
- Laura Citron, Chief Executive, London & Partners
- Andrew Cooke, Chief Operations Officer, London & Partners
The meeting will take place on 6 March at 10:00am in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1). Media and members of the public are invited to attend. The meeting can also be viewed via webcast.
