Getting on with COVID

City Hall
Created on
21 June 2021

Recent data suggests COVID-19 cases are doubling every 11 days, particularly across younger and less vaccinated age groups.

With its international travel hubs and youthful, less-vaccinated population, could London become a variant hotspot?

Tomorrow, the London Assembly Health Committee will investigate what strategies are needed for the capital to adapt to and manage COVID-19 outbreaks and new variants. It will also discuss what Londoners can expect after “Freedom Day”, delayed at least until 19 July.

The guests are:

  • John Hetherington, Head of London Resilience Group
  • Dr Sandra Husbands, Director of Public Health for London Borough of Hackney and the City of London
  • Vicky Hobart, Head of Health, Greater London Authority
  • Dr Zubaida Haque, Independent SAGE
  • Professor Anthony Costello, Independent SAGE

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 22 June 2021 from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

Media and members of the public are invited to attend – numbers may be limited.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
