
The public response to the fire at Grenfell Tower showed how communities can express their support for victims of emergencies through charitable giving. The disaster highlighted several issues including:
- Communicating with the public about how best to donate
- Management and governance of publicly-donated funds
- Distribution of such funds and eligibility criteria
- Role of the Mayor and other London-wide arrangements
Tomorrow, the GLA Oversight Committee will examine the charitable response to the Grenfell Tower fire, terror attacks and other events in London. The guests are:

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 31st January from 10.00am in The Chamber, at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
