London currently has the lowest proportion of home ownership in the country ' just 59% of London's homes are owner-occupied, compared to 70% for the rest of England. Wandsworth's Local Development Framework seeks to increase the number of low cost homes available to first time buyers, key workers and others on low and moderate incomes seeking to own a share of their own home. Why does the Mayor oppose this plan, and what exactly does he have against home owners?
