  • Reference: 2008/0645

Heathrow Airtrack

  • Reference: 2008/0644
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
The public consultation brochure issued in February for the Heathrow Airtrack rail proposals does not address the impact this will cause on the Staines to Waterloo line. There will be major transport infrastructure and level crossing capacity issues particularly between Richmond and Clapham Junction. Will you press Network Rail to develop and invest in a strategic plan to resolve this?

Bay at Streatham High Road

  • Reference: 2008/0643
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
The bay outside 340 Streatham High Road (A23) has no sign to indicate whether it is a parking or loading bay. As it is believed to be a loading bay this is causing penalty charges to be issued incorrectly. Will you ensure the correct sign is erected and arrange for cancellation of parking charge notices issued for this bay?

Public Transport in Wapping

  • Reference: 2008/0642
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
Will you address urgently the inadequate public transport in the Wapping area during the East London Line closure, in view of the following problems. Many residents now rely on the 100 Bus, which is infrequent, late and over-crowded. The 'replacement bus service' does not provide a reasonable interchange with Whitechapel station and the District/Hammersmith and City line, making it of little value. Furthermore, on the weekend of 1st/2nd March the District Line, Circle Line and DLR were all closed, so that the alternative stations of Tower Hill or Shadwell have been rendered useless, effectively leaving a whole community stranded.

Are you happy with the rate of progress being made dealing with Helicopter noise in London and the proposals of the Environment Committee?

Hammersmith Bus Station Information

  • Reference: 2008/0638
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
Will you improve the signage to the Hammersmith bus station extension so that passengers from the tube and the shopping centre can clearly see the best route to their bus departure point?

Hammersmith Bus Station Departure Points

  • Reference: 2008/0637
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
Will you amend the new Hammersmith Bus Station layout so that the bus departure points of all buses crossing Hammersmith Bridge are reassigned so that all leave from either a single bus stop or (as previously) two immediately adjoining stops?

Hammersmith Bus Station Safety and Comfort

  • Reference: 2008/0636
  • Question by: Geoff Pope
  • Meeting date: 12 March 2008
What can be done to address the shortcomings and safety concerns at the Hammersmith bus station extension, where passengers complain of the insufficient shelter and seating, and complain of having to negotiate the Underground tunnel most of which has no hand rails and then cross over to the bus stops in front of parked buses that block views of moving buses?
