On December 27th and 28th 2010, Londoners in South East London were made aware by Southeastern trains that Waterloo East and Charing Cross stations would be closed for engineering works. Posters at Southeastern stations directed passengers wishing to go to these destinations to use appropriate underground services to Charing Cross or Southwark stations. However, the only London Underground line serving Southwark station is the Jubilee Line, which was also suspended during this period. TfL Journey Planner and cyclists

I have been contacted by a cycling constituent who has been in lengthy correspondence with TfL about the poor service provided by the TfL online journey planner relating to journeys taken by bicycle. My constituent reports that when she tried to use the journey planner for a journey from Stockwell to the West End, the default option for cycling did not use safe back streets but main roads. Rail Grinding Unit

Following the 'runaway train' incident on the Northern Line in August the 'rail grinding unit' train responsible was taken out of service. Is this unit still out of service or has the fault been repaired? Has this had any longer term effects on TfL's tube upgrade work?
