Banning big lorries during the Olympics

A constituent has written to inform me about the Olympic and Paralympic Games held in Sydney, where all traffic over 2 tonnes was banned in the city centre between 7am and 7pm. It was thought to work well so it is still in force. The constituent would like to know if you will ask TfL and LOCOG to look at a similar approach for the London 2012 Games?
