Oyster Cards

  • Reference: 2011/1882
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Some Oyster Card users are only permitted to purchase PAYG or weekly travel cards online with their current Oyster Card. If they wish to purchase monthly or annual cards, the TfL website advises that they must purchase a new Oyster Card. Why is this and will you offer to exchange or upgrade the cards for free rather than force people to purchase new ones?

  • Reference: 2011/1878
  • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Following the sad death of cyclist Eilidh Cairns in London 2009 after a crash with an HGV vehicle, the See Me Save Me campaign is calling for the fitting of sensors and cameras in lorries to eliminate blind spots which cause accidents with cyclists on the road. Do you support this campaign and if so will you use your influence to help progress it?

  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
The London Cycling Campaign has submitted a petition of 10,000 signatures calling for cyclist awareness training in every London Borough. Will you look into initiatives such as Lambeth Council's driver training scheme to see whether this is something TfL could lead on in partnership with the boroughs to make London's streets safer for cyclists?

  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Further to MQs 1053/2010, 2962/2010 and 2701/2009, given your previous acknowledgement that speeding is an issue on the King's Cross one-way system and that measures are needed to tackle this, will you set out your current plans to improve these roads for pedestrians and cyclists?

Further to MQ 0893/2011, please provide the figures from 2009/10 onwards for the cost to TfL due to the use of fraudulent debit and credit cards when purchasing fares for the congestion charge and DLR, and for the current year for Barclays Cycle Hire.

Register of Olympic ticket allocations

  • Reference: 2011/1873
  • Question by: Dee Doocey
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
In response to my question 1334/2011 you said that you would 'provide details of who has received a ticket and why published on the GLA website after the Games.' This promise would not enable any meaningful scrutiny since it will be a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Why will you not publish the details as and when tickets are allocated?
