Pinkham Way - transport impact

  • Reference: 2011/1953
  • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Many constituents have contacted me with concerns about the waste plant and depot proposed by North London Waste Authority and the London Borough of Barnet at Pinkham Way, Haringey; in particular they are concerned about the additional traffic which will be generated by the site. How will you ensure that the proposals comply with London Plan policies on waste capacity including that there should be 'full transport and environmental impact of all collection, transfer and disposal movements, particularly maximising the potential use of rail and water transport using the Blue Ribbon Network' for waste management developments?

World cup bids

  • Reference: 2011/1949
  • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Given the reports which are emerging about the processes for bidding to host the World Cup in 2018 and 2022, will you ask FIFA to refund the cost of London's abortive 2018 bid? Will you refrain from spending money on bids for future events run by FIFA until investigations have been completed and a transparently fair process adopted?

Feltham Arena

  • Reference: 2011/1948
  • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Constituents have raised concerns to me regarding the dereliction of the Feltham Arena site in Hounslow, with slow progress since planning permission was agreed in 2007 and apparently alleges inappropriate behaviour by developers. Are you satisfied that works on the site are fully consistent with the planning conditions in place? Do you share my concern that we should be safeguarding local playing fields and sports facilities and ensuring they are available for use by the public?

Thames River Park

  • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
  • Meeting date: 15 June 2011
Will you publish the Memorandum of Agreement between the GLA and Guru Fund Management (International) PTE. Ltd ('the Sponsor'), to support the Thames River Park Project so we can be sure that there will be no call upon the GLA's resources and all costs will be met by the Sponsor?
