The EU Justice Commissioner has pushed national authorities to investigate whether Volkswagen broke local consumer protection laws on 'Dieselgate'. Would the Mayor consider working with UK Government leading an approach of conciliation, rather than litigation where only lawyers benefit, in order that VW potentially offer substantial monies to support the Deputy Mayor for the Environment on measures to mitigate these alleged wrongs?

Buses using Hammersmith Bridge

With Hammersmith Bridge restricted to one bus at a time being able to cross, TfL have informed me that drivers are attempting to reduce emissions as best they can whilst they wait to cross. However, I am still receiving complaints that engines are running for prolonged periods. Can the Mayor assure my constituents that waiting buses are switching off their engines appropriately and that emissions are being regularly monitored throughout the period of the works?
