Residents have raised concerns regarding the potential funding cuts to the Royal Parks Operational Command Unit, which is being considered by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner. The Royal Parks Police Unit plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and well-being of park visitors and would also undermine efforts to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of these iconic spaces. Met Police support for e-scooter/bikes new parking bays

TfL is currently working together with London Boroughs to develop a new approach to tackle poorly parked bikes causing access or safety issues. This includes more parking bays for e-scooters and e-bikes. However, it seems the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is opposed to this principle as they are actively objecting to new parking bays for e-scooters in consultations organised by local boroughs.
