New partnership builds on the Mayor’s ambition to support Londoners to experience affordable, world class sporting events and grow tennis across the capital.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has teamed up with the Laver Cup – one of the world’s leading international men’s team tennis tournaments – alongside the LTA and LTA Tennis Foundation to help more Londoners to experience the prestigious competition being held at The O2 from September 25-27.
The new partnership with the Mayor will see two extraordinary opportunities for Londoners:
-
1,000 specially priced tickets, reducing the cost to £25 each before VAT & fees, will be available for purchase through AXS, the official ticketing partner of The O2. Tickets will be available across all five sessions.
-
More than 2,000 complimentary tickets to the Laver Cup Open Practice Day presented by FICO on Thursday, September 24 will be distributed to schools and youth organizations across the capital in partnership with the LTA and LTA Tennis Foundation.
This builds on Sadiq’s ambition to support all Londoners to experience world class, affordable major sporting events in the capital – as well as his investment to grow the sport of tennis through the Rally Together London initiative. [1]
The Laver Cup, which has been held annually since 2017, sees Team Europe face Team World across three days, and will feature some of the world’s biggest tennis stars including Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz.
Team Europe will be led by France’s Yannick Noah, with Britain’s Tim Henman as his vice-captain, while Team World will be captained by US legend Andre Agassi alongside his Australian vice-captain Pat Rafter.
Laver Cup 2026 marks the return of the tournament to London for the first time in four years. In 2022 the event saw the legendary Roger Federer play the final competitive match of his career alongside his great rival Rafael Nadal and fellow “Big Four” members Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
Fans in London this year can expect more world-class matchups, never-before-seen doubles pairings and the unique spectacle of rivals becoming teammates on the Laver Cup’s signature black court.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “London is the undisputed sporting capital of the world and I am delighted we are hosting the Laver Cup at The O2 later this month.
“I want every Londoner to have the opportunity to experience world class major sporting events in our city.
“That is why I am proud to be teaming up with the Laver Cup to provide free and reduced cost tickets for Londoners to experience world class tennis and see some of the sport’s biggest stars in action.
“This renowned tennis competition has featured many of the greats of the game and it’s an honour for London to become the first city to stage the event twice.
“We look forward to staging another fantastic competition as we work together to build a better, more prosperous London for everyone.”
Steve Zacks, Laver Cup CEO, said: “We’re delighted to work with the Mayor of London and the LTA to give more Londoners the opportunity to experience the Laver Cup when we return to The O2 later this month.
“London holds a special place in Laver Cup history, and we want our return to have an impact beyond the three days of competition. By making a limited number of tickets available at a special price and welcoming more than 2,000 young Londoners to Open Practice Day, we hope to introduce new audiences to the Laver Cup and build on the community legacy we established here in 2022.”
