Chinese New Year in London - decision
Update of event cancellation
Following lengthy consultations with local agency partners, the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA) has decided that, for the second year running, the traditional London Chinese Lunar New Year 2022 celebrations cannot take place in the accustomed manner, considering the very large numbers of the public ordinarily drawn to the annual event.
This has not been an easy decision, however the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone must come first.
2022 is the Year of the Tiger, and LCCA takes inspiration from its characteristics. They are kind and benevolent, rarely feel tired and have rich emotions. No matter how many difficulties or obstacles they face, they will never give up.
We hope to reinstate a full event in 2023!
