Response to the Independent Culture Review (4)

Specific funding has been put in place for cultural change at the London Fire Brigade (LFB). Culture change activities are funded through Programme 5 of the Community Risk Management Plan, with a specific team in place to support this work. 

LFB’s draft Budget Submission for 2024-25, which was published in November 2023 (LFC-23-107y), sets out proposed additional funding for projects in Programme 5. The draft budget sets out proposed funding for 2024-25 (£2.85 million), 2025-26 (£3.18 million), and 2026-27 (£1.59 million) in Appendix 6 (under the heading of ‘Programme 5’). Some projects within programme 5 that are due to be delivered in future years have not yet been fully costed. As a result, future investment in culture change is expected to be higher than these initial estimates and this will be set out in future budget submissions. 

This will be updated in the LFB’s final Budget for 2024-25 in March and LFB will also take this opportunity to set out how its wider resources are supporting this improvement programme.
