The response to an incident or emergency can often be taken for granted, but the reality is that it takes a lot of planning and preparation by organisations working in partnership to ensure a coordinated response. The Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee sought to find out more about how this happens, and how effective the response is in London.
Resilience and emergency planning work is critical in preparing for, and responding to, major incidents in London. As the capital city, London contains a large number of partner organisations that come together and work collaboratively to ensure its citizens are protected in the event of an incident.
This report makes several conclusions and highlights key concerns about Government proposals for the future development of resilience, and the need for appropriate funding if improvement is to be delivered.
