HIV in London Podcast
As part of its investigation into HIV in London, Chair of the London Assembly Health Committee, Krupesh Hirani AM, interviewed the founder of Aids Memory UK, Ash Kotak, for a very special two-part podcast.
Many of us who have been living with HIV for a long time, we have seen so much horror, abuse, evil, nastiness [...] But through it all we've met people who have the most incredible ability to love.
The London Assembly Health Committee investigation into HIV in London keeps people with lived experience of HIV and AIDS at its heart. The Committee felt it was vital to hear directly from those affected. Chair Krupesh Hirani AM was interested to speak with Ash Kotak, a long time advocate of raising awareness for those living with HIV.
This podcast is available in two parts. Part one highlights the importance of getting tested following a recent rise in HIV infections in London. It also discusses a vigil being held by Aids Memory UK for World AIDS Day. Part two features a wider discussion on HIV, the stigma people continue to face, and how different communities in the UK and beyond are affected. It will be available soon.
The London Assembly and its Committees will continue to hear from Londoners as part of its ongoing London Voices podcast series.
