Is the Mayor delivering on his 2024 manifesto commitments?
In April 2024, Sir Sadiq Khan launched his third-term election campaign with A Fairer, Safer, Greener London for everyone,1 outlining a policy agenda structured around four themes: fairness, safety, the environment, and prosperity for Londoners.
The Mayor’s 2024 manifesto headlined a list of ‘top 10’ commitments. These included:
- Redouble efforts to reduce violence against women and girls, including investment to stop reoffending and free legal advice for victims of sexual abuse
- Freeze TfL fares until at least 2025 and continue to freeze fares for as long as economic conditions allow
- End rough sleeping for good by 2030 in partnership with a Labour government
- Build 40,000 council homes by the end of the decade
- Work with a Labour government to put an extra 1,300 neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs on the streets
- Deliver a new London Growth Plan, with a target of creating more than 150,000 good jobs by 2028 and increasing living standards for Londoners.2
Tomorrow, the London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee will meet to assess the current progress and plans for the delivery of the Mayor’s 2024 manifesto commitments.
Guests are:
- Richard Watts, Mayor’s Deputy Chief of Staff
- Jamilla Hinds-Brough, Mayoral Head of Delivery
- Fay Hammond, Chief Finance Officer, Greater London Authority (GLA)
The meeting will take place on Thursday 18 September 2025 from 10am in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
