How robust are the GLA’s anti-fraud policies?

The Greater London Authority (GLA) and Functional Bodies have anti-fraud policies, which set out rules and procedures in place to protect against and respond to instances of fraud.

The GLA’s Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy & Response Plan states:

Fraud and corruption not only divert scarce resources from the public purse. They corrode public confidence in our democratic institutions and public services and the morale of those who work within them. So, an important part of our governance framework is our policies and approach to preventing, detecting and investigating all forms of fraud and corruption.1

The GLA Oversight Committee will meet tomorrow to learn more about arrangements in the GLA Group for countering fraud, and how robust the arrangements are.

The Committee will also speak to GLA officers for its biannual scrutiny session on the GLA Workforce Report, covering the period 1 October 2025-31 March 2026.

The guests are:

Countering Fraud (10am – 11am):

  • David Esling, Director of Audit, Risk and Assurance, Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime

GLA Workforce Report (11am – 12pm):

  • Dianne Tranmer, Executive Director, Corporate Resources & Business Improvement, GLA
  • Phil Graham, Executive Director, Good Growth, GLA
  • Tim Steer, Executive Director, Housing and Land, GLA
  • Chandru Dissanayeke, Executive Director, Strategy and Communications, GLA
  • Justine Kenny, Chief People Officer, GLA

The meeting will take place on Thursday 18 June from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
