Swimmable rivers in London
Environment Committee
The Environment Committee will publish its report ‘Swimmable rivers: Towards clean and healthy waterways in London’ which includes 12 recommendations looking into the Mayor’s plan to make rivers in London clean, healthy and ‘swimmable’ within ten years.

Firefighters’ exposure to chemicals

Firefighters can be exposed to hazardous contaminants while carrying out their vital work keeping the public safe.
The Fire Committee will ask experts about the risks of the effects of contaminants on firefighters’ health and wellbeing, how they are managed, and what more could be done to mitigate them.

Climate financing

The Environment Committee will examine the effectiveness of the Greater London Authority’s (GLA) current climate finance initiatives in scaling up the amount invested to accelerate London’s transition to net zero, and what can be done to further increase private finance to help London achieve its target of achieving net zero emissions by 2030.
