Cutting costs of capital funding and delivery

Budget and Performance Committee

London could deliver major transport infrastructure projects between 20 – 50 per cent cheaper if it followed processes in place in other major European countries.

The Budget and Performance Committee will launch its report - Euston, we have a problem: Mind the funding gap – with recommendations to the Mayor and government to save money on major infrastructure projects.

Environmental impacts of Heathrow expansion

Environment Committee

The Environment Committee will write to the Secretary of State for Transport regarding the expansion of Heathrow airport. The Committee will raise significant concerns with the environmental impact of the proposed expansion of Heathrow airport, including on air quality, noise and carbon emissions.

In the 2026-27 London Fire Commissioner (LFC) Budget, the Mayor proposes a total of £557 million funding to the LFB, up £25 million from 2025 26 in cash terms.

The Budget and Performance Committee will continue its scrutiny of the Mayor’s 2026-27 budget, speaking to London Fire Brigade (LFB) about its proposed budget for the forthcoming year.

The Police and Crime Committee will continue its investigation into hate crime and violence against women and girls (VAWG) on London’s public transport.
