Biography

Anne was elected as the London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden in 2021, having lived in the constituency for over twenty years, since moving to the UK from Chicago as a student in 1998.  

Anne has been a councillor in Barnet since 2018, serving Childs Hill and Cricklewood wards.   

Anne is Labour’s lead on Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning, having advocated for thousands of Londoners still living in homes with unsafe cladding, spoken out for hardworking firefighters and raised awareness of the dangers of lithium-ion batteries. Anne also chaired the Assembly’s Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee throughout 2022/23 and 2023/24.

Locally, Anne has worked on tackling hate crime faced by Jewish and Muslim communities in her constituency, she also campaigns on local impacts of climate change such as flooding and wildfires.

Anne is a school governor and a trustee of the Childs Hill Foodbank which she co-founded during the pandemic.
