Can I please have [a response which] clearly lists all figures you refer to for both pre pandemic and post pandemic for each day of the week. That includes Monday and other days which are not just “midweek” along with all stakeholders consulted on this change
Response:
Background:
The Mayor asked TfL to look into running a three-month trial whereby all London rail fares are made off-peak on a Friday to see if it could help drive ridership and boost London's wider economic recovery. Friday was chosen as ridership is currently quieter on Fridays than on other weekdays; midweek ridership is now up to more than 80 per cent of pre-pandemic levels but Fridays are consistently lower at around 72 per cent of pre-pandemic levels. It is for this reason the off-peak fare is being considered on Friday, rather than other days of the week. It is hoped that by making transport more attractive and affordable on a Friday it could give ridership the boost it needs and support TfL's and London's recovery from the pandemic.
