- The total number of landlords who have been present on the rogue landlord database, whether they are still present or have been removed, lapsed, or hidden from public view
- The total number of landlords who are currently present on the database at the time you receive this request, including any that are still on the database but are hidden.
- Additionally, if possible, the total number of landlords who have multiple entries on the database.
Response:
There is a total of 226 records on the public tier of the Rogue Landlord and Agent Checker (RLAC). This number includes landlords and agents. Multiple records from the same landlord or agent are not included in this number. Records usually stay on the public tier for 12 months but this is dependent on the type of enforcement, the RLAC’s policy and procedure document has more information regarding retention periods and this can be found here: 20210629_-policies_and_procedures_update_final.pdf (london.gov.uk)
132 of these entries are landlords. multiple records from the same landlord are not included in this number.
Thirty-nine landlords have multiple records on the public tier of the public tier of the RLAC.
For data protection reasons we do not have access to any details of records that have been deleted from the RLAC.
The RLAC is administered by the GLA, and London boroughs have agreed to participate by uploading data on enforcement against landlords and agents to the RLAC. As such, the London boroughs own the data you have requested and the GLA does not hold the information for the purpose of the Act. The GLA is therefore not able to disclose the information from the private tier of the RLAC that you have requested. The policy and procedure for the RLAC contains more information about the GLA’s role, and the distinction between the Checker’s public and private tiers, which you can view here: 20210629_-policies_and_procedures_update_final.pdf (london.gov.uk)
