- Please note that this information is exempt from disclosure under the exemption for Commercial Interests at section 43(2) of the FOIA. Section 43(2) provides that information can be withheld from release if its release would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of any person. A commercial interest relates to a person’s ability to participate competitively in a commercial activity and in this instance, the GLA is withholding this information because it would be likely to prejudice the commercial interests of the GLA in future negotiations in relation to procurement activity for the New Years Eve fireworks event. We have already started our procurement timetable in relation to the 2026 event where we will begin negotiations on the various contracts required to deliver this year’s event. Detailed knowledge on costs for individual elements would be likely to, prejudice or harm the commercial interests of the GLA. The GLA is committed to delivering value for money and the disclosure of detailed costings is likely to distort the value at which we would negotiate.
- No profit was made from ticket sales. All income from ticket sales goes directly towards offsetting the costs of the event.
