Summary of request
You requested:
Please provide me with the cost of making these posters that have been put up around
London, the cost of the advertising and most importantly who's paying for it?
Are the London taxpayers paying the cost or is it coming out of the Mayor of London i.e. Sadiq Khan's pocket.
Our response:
I can confirm that the GLA does hold information in scope of your request.
The GLA has a duty to keep Londoners informed and engaged in the work of the Mayor of
London and the London Assembly.
This advertising activity was to promote the important work of the new London Refugee
Response, in which City Hall is working alongside charities and voluntary groups across the capital to help refugees to build a new life in London, with support in finding jobs and learning English.
For this piece of work, the GLA has incurred costs of just £80, which was utilised to translate the message into Dari and Pashto. This cost will come from the GLA’s marketing budget.
The creative elements were delivered by an in-house designer. As the adverts are all digital, there were no costs associated with print or production. All advertising space was kindly gifted pro bono by partners, such as Piccadilly Lights.
