London’s Nightlife is for everyone – have your say on its future

It has been a long time since I have been ‘out out’ – you are much more likely to find me in bed by 11am reading a book most nights. In fact, the first time I ever went to Fabric was at 9am with colleagues and the Mayor to launch the independent Nightlife Taskforce

But I am still a part of London’s nightlife – you may not catch me on the dance floor, but I love attending late night screenings at my local cinema, the Rio in Dalston, and then grabbing a snack from my favourite Turkish restaurant on my way home (get the mushroom tantuni).

Nightlife is more than just nightclubs

Nightlife is not just nightclubs – it can be al fresco dining as the sun sets, catching up with a friend over an ice cream (Bilmonte is my favourite late night gelato place in Soho) or even going to see an art exhibition; recently the National Gallery opened its Van Gogh exhibition for 24 hours to allow more people to see it. And of course there are amazing raves, parties and gigs happening across the city.

London’s nightlife is famous worldwide for being lively, diverse, and always changing.  It’s an important part of the city’s culture and economy and a big attraction for both Londoners and visitors. Over 2 million people are out-and-about in London after 9pm and 1.4 million people regularly work at night.

Why we want to hear from you

Our nightlife has faced significant challenges in recent years. From the pandemic to rising costs, it has been a tough time. We always get better solutions when we listen to a variety of voices and work together, that’s why the Taskforce wants to hear from you!

Whether you work at night, are a regular raver or take more of an introverted approach to nighttime activities like me, we want to hear your thoughts.

Share your ideas, hopes and dreams for the future of our city at night.
