Inclusive Talent Strategy now published

Updated: 23 October 2025

In the summer, almost 500 of you had your say on jobs and skills in London, and how best to improve the system for everyone.

Thanks so much to everyone who took part. Your experiences and ideas have directly informed the development of our new strategy to support Londoners into good jobs.

A new talent strategy for London

Panel having a panel discussion at the launch of the Inclusive Talent Strategy

The Mayor and London Councils launched the Inclusive Talent Strategy at a special event on 23 October. This ten-year plan will make London’s skills, and employment and careers system better connected and more responsive to what employers and Londoners need.

You said, we did

Getting help is an issue: 60% of you said it’s hard to find joined up advice and support you can trust – only 21% found it easy.

  • That’s why our new strategy will create a clearer, more connected system. This includes how we can use digital tools, so it is easier to navigate.

Accessing jobs and training: we heard you want practical, flexible routes into good jobs and opportunities to access training.

  • We’ll work with employers to co-design training that leads to real opportunities and helps Londoners adapt to job market changes.

Barriers to learning:  you told us that cost, being a carer and confidence can all get in the way.

  • Our strategy sets out how we’ll work to remove these barriers so everyone can access the support they need.

Who we heard from

Almost 500 of you shared your views in our survey on skills, training and work in our survey this summer. Respondents ranged in age from 16 to 89, with 22% under 35, with an almost even mix of men (52%) and women (48%).

Next steps

City Hall colleagues will use your views, and those of other Londoners who took part to shape how we will meet these ambitions.

We’ll keep you posted on any new ways to get involved.

Thanks again for taking part. You’re helping to make London a place where everyone has a chance to use their talents and thrive.
