After a few surveys, several rounds of user testing and a discussion with some sneak peeks of our new designs, we’re very happy to welcome you to the new Talk London!
The platform is still in beta version, which means that it is not the final version and more edits and updates will follow.
Our old platform last got a make-over in 2017 and the technology it was running on needed a full upgrade. We used the opportunity to make improvements based on your feedback.
What’s new?
-
A fresh design, but we kept our familiar pink colour as so many of you told us you liked that.
-
Big consultations are now gathered on an ‘issue page’, where you can read more about the background, see the different stages in the timeline and find all the related surveys and discussions together. This was a new feature a lot of you were keen to see. The page you’re on now is an issue page, and going forward this is how we’ll present our work.
-
Lots of you told us you don’t always comment on our discussions, so we’ve created new and easy ways to have your say. To show your support for another member’s comment or idea, you can now click the little arrow to ‘upvote’ it or click the heart icon to show you care.
As always, your feedback is very welcome! It will help us improve Talk London over the next few months, as we continue to shape our new platform.
What do you think of our new online community platform? What features are you most looking forward to use?
Tell us in the discussion below.

A search function has been a highly requested feature. We're working with our developers to keep improving the site and you should see some changes in the near future.

Show full commentI have yet to see the topic that I am most interested in, notably climate change. Particularly after this last weekend. The mayor says it’s important. Boris says it’s important. LTN’s only increase pollution and carbon from slow moving cars and keep it all on main roads. Mor important is construction but no one mentions that. The demolition and rebuilding (with lots of concrete and use of low water supplies) is releasing a lot of greenhouse gases. But the Mayor simply encourages this. If it was to build homes it might be more acceptable but with a short radius of my home there a 3 building projects - all offices. Not too far away by Blackfriars Bridge is a huge office and retail park. No homes. When is this lunacy going to stop? When summer heatwave temperatures go up to 50 degrees??

Official Representative 3 years agoHi Michael
Thank you for your feedback and please accept our apologies for the frustrations caused.
We will look into this, as you shouldn't need to reset your password every time you log on.
Our developers are currently working on the password issues, so this should all run much smoother in the near future.
Have you been able to take part in our latest surveys?

Show full commentThis site is baffling. Random number of posts displayed on each page (sometimes zero), and as others have pointed out, when I get an email notification that someone has commented on my post, the link in the email doesn't take me to my comment, so I can't find it. Internet forums have been around for decades, these problems have all been solved repeatedly.

Show full commentI'm troubled by the proposed expansion of ULEZ to include the whole of Greater London. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of clean-running vehicles, as such, pinning the date to 2005 registered petrol vehicles is to miss the mark by a country mile. As you may have surmised, I run an appreciably older vehicle (1991) which, because of its age, I would be liable to pay the daily ULEZ charge. Going by the emissions read-out on its MoT test, it emits only 86ppm of unburnt hydrocarbons. The MoT requirement is that the figure be less than 1200ppm. I think everyone would agree that 86ppm is significantly lower than 1200ppm! Is it not unreasonable to think therefore that there may be very much newer cars (post 2005) which, by their age are NOT liable to pay the ULEZ charge but which are far higher polluters than my clean running 1991 car? Mr. Khan...please do not focus on simply the age/year in which the vehicle was registered but look to how cleanly it runs based upon the emissions reading of the MoT test.

In any case my personal experience of consultations etc is that the decision is already taken
ULEZ website doesn't accept the word assumption !

Show full commentIf we were to discover how much was spent on the ULEZ zone, I would think we should be ashamed of ourselves. All those cameras and signs at every junction of the North and South Circulars must have cost a large fortune. Given that soon they will be redundant as electric/hydrogen vehicles take over, how much better it would have been to reduce the cost of public transport.

Community Member 3 years agoYes the ULEZ was about raising taxes but it's a very expensive way to do so and has taken many £millions out of the London economy. And it will soon have little impact on air pollution.

Sort it out. This is an opportunity to gauge how we are feeling and you can't get it right.
It's simple.
We have machete weilding people on the streets. Weed smoking in the streets. You have shut all the roads and charging twice to drive down the roads that are open and God forbid you drive more than 20mph whilst an ebike or scooter fly by at 30mph and they don't have to pay and they have right of way. It really is a zoo. Congrats. Like the movie title we made a zoo.
