Look through short term winners and losers and see the future
Self driving cars are perhaps one of the most important changes coming and will facilitate a move away from car ownership. Make that happen in a way that is effective

The above is compulsory before allowing immigration from overseas like India exampl punjab access provide essential quality and show they are able to do so.

Show full commentAccess to a wider range of housing education and jobs is improved if people feel safe walking and cycling and public transport is quick regular and cheap. Driving in single occupancy delivery or other vehicles is an incredibly inefficient use of our roads, so all the TLRN & SRN to be clearway, bus priority. Deliveries on reallocated CPZ space on side roads or last mile cycling All dangerous junctions safe to cycle through. All side roads LTNs. A filter on a local road required by a local council is NEVER refused by TfL, as it was on New Park Road SW2. All the TLRN & SRN to have protected cycle routes. People walking always a priority over people driving so no long waits at signals and sufficient time for people of all abilities to cross. All dog leg crossings and pedestrian islands removed on all London roads so people cross in a single movement, as Brixton station. If the model says no to bus priority, walking and cycling priority, then reduce the driving modelled, and accommodate the figure that enables bus priority, walking and cycling via a single general traffic lane with tidal signals. Congestion? Increase congestion charge

Show full commentAffordable housing and most definitely the environment! It’s becoming impossible to rent in London as a young professional. I have lived in London my whole life and I’m starting to worry I’m going to be priced out. I struggle to find a flat that I can afford (with most having only very basic necessities of which I begrudge paying around £2,000 a month for) or most having to pay over the asking price to secure flats as soon as possible.
Show less of commentAlso, as an early career researcher, working in the environment/biodiversity field, PREVENTION of climate change should be prioritised, not alleviating the IMPACTS of climate change itself. This will have wide reaching benefits and makes us more resilient in the future.

Show full commentIf we want London to remain a vibrant city, we need to strike the right balance.
We need workers in every walk of life. They should be able to afford to buy or rent their properties. Since there is a correlation between the price of a property and the rent, we need to exclude external influences on the price of properties, such as non-resident foreign buyers, who have poured corrupt money into properties, thereby making it impossible for a person with an average salary to purchase a property of their own.
This has two main ramifications.
No wonder property prices are out of reach of ordinary Londoners, and the same is true of rents. External influences create a bubble and collapse.
Ban non-resident buyers and make properties affordable. This would reduce the illegal migrant problem.

The Mayor himself has refused to acknowledge or answer questions on these peadophile rape gangs, contributing to the cover up. If the Mayor turns a blind eye to such horrific abuse, he should be in jail. The authorities who have helped cover this up need to be investigated. These children deserve to be protected and have justice. Children in care should not be left to be raped to death. Shame on the Mayor for doing nothing to stop this, protected peadophiles instead of children!

It is bad for our safety, peace, and also the city's image for tourism and even as an international high skill destibation. It is not for taxpayer pounds to fund housing or benefits but it is for taxpayer money to combat crime and extinguish fires so as to provide bare minimums for businesses and local communities to thrive.

In order to fix crime you need to fix the root of the problem. And, if you look at the statistics crime has not risen in a way that affects most people. It is petty theft that has increased and the statistics group them all together as a scare tactic. Funding the police further will increase agitation, fear and anger making the situation worse.

Show full commentIt feels really tough for people right now and that's about losing work or not being able to find work, which leads to housing issues alongside the cost of living being so high - from food to transport. So we have to start with jobs, fair wages, and from that consider cost of living and housing with urgency.
Show less of commentFor those who can't work, can't secure work, or do work but just don't earn enough, we HAVE to support them with a respectable social support system (currently universal credit). Free school meals for kids is important - but allowing parents to be able to provide food for their children is surely better?
Community cohesion is more important than ever because inequality and tensions are being deliberately provoked by politicians and press - successfully creating a left-right divide to make us fight amongst ourselves, when it's actually the mega greedy 1% v's everyone else. It's disgusting behaviour that we should all be repulsed by - not impressed by! EVERYONE should be using whatever influence they have to stop this nasty and divisive agenda. We're all wonderful neighbours, friends and colleagues. And if we're here, we're British. I want to see even more celebration of diversity; an agenda of equality whist celebrating and learning about our differences.

Show full commentIt is important to communicate and understand the interconnectedness of all the priorities, and address them as such. For example the climate priority relates to housing and cost of living (ie more energy efficient homes = cheaper life); transport (cheaper metro and more cycle network = more use of those = better air quality) etc. As such it feels unfair to separate them into themes, especially the climate one which from the language used can feel like a distant and less concrete problem (ie talking about flood and heat wave resilience), even though actions for the climate are guaranteed to have positive co benefits for all the other themes. As such I feel like climate, or more broadly sustainable development should be an underlying value in all priorities rather than separate as it is the most important theme which will unlock a happier healthier life for all. I also think at this point no need to put emphasis on targeted economic growth: we need to deal with the social aspects first, namely housing and transport (which again, are all interrelated anyways with economic sustainability and people’s purchase power). If we take care of our people and planet, the economic growth will follow inevitably (happier people = more productive workforce. Greener city = more attractive to talent. Healthier people = less social spending… even to the point of tourism which is increased with more progressive governments (ie look at how tourism has plummeted in the US) and so on). If Londoners are happy, London will prosper!

The migrants are not the issue, the refugees are not the issue, those on the dole are not the issue.
The establishment is the issue and no amount of fear mongering from shills and mouth pieces will distract me from that.

More affordable homes for Londoners, stop allowing businesses to sell properties to overseas investors who don’t even rent the properties out to the locals.
Show less of commentThe state of the trains on the underground is shocking, good start with purchasing the Piccadilly line train upgrade , now let’s focus on Bakerloo and Northern. Graffiti on the Central line is a massive problem, and needs sorting. We can’t wait years for CCTV to be installed on these trains, which doesn’t do much anyway.
More visible police presence on London’s streets, especially in the main tourist areas. London is developing a reputation online as a crime ridden city, and this does not help tourism in the slightest. CCTV does not deter criminals and most of them are masked up anyway so avoid detection.
Motorised bikes and scooters need to be banned full stop in the capital, they are very dangerous and used for mobile phone theft, which is another big problem in London.
Them brightly coloured and loud tricycles biking around city scamming tourists need to be banned. They make the city look tacky, block traffic, rip people off and get aggressive with tourists when they refuse to pay their ridiculous prices.
London is a great city and I’m very proud to live here but these are serious issues that can easily be resolved. It’s easy to blame class division and wage disparity, but these are no excuse for crime, especially in the U.K.
