From Monday (15 June) all non-essential shops are allowed to re-open and gradually more and more people will start to use London’s transport network.
But as we emerge from the lockdown, how is TfL protecting the health and safety of its own staff and passengers on Tubes, buses and in stations, while increasing service levels?
On Monday, the London Assembly Transport Committee will question the Deputy Mayor for Transport and TfL representatives on protecting staff members, especially those from a BAME background, service frequency, passenger crowd control and social distancing measures.
During this meeting TfL’s financial situation and longer term sustainability will also be discussed.
The guests are:
- Heidi Alexander, Deputy Mayor for Transport
- Simon Kilonback, Chief Financial Officer, TfL
- Andy Lord, Managing Director, London Underground, TfL
- Gareth Powell, Managing Director, Surface Transport, TfL
- Vernon Everitt, Director of Customers, Communication and Technology, TfL
- Stuart Harvey, Director of Major Projects, TfL
The meeting will take place on Monday, 15 June at 2:00pm. In line with Government advice, this meeting will take place virtually. Media and members of the public can watch the meeting live here.
