The Economy Committee will visit manufacturing sites in London to consider the challenges they face and what the Mayor can do to better support small and medium-sized manufacturers.
Brompton is an iconic London brand – they make over 45,000 bikes a year and are the UK’s largest bike manufacturer, exporting to 45 countries. The Committee will also visit the Central Research Laboratory in Hayes, which is an incubator space for innovative manufacturing businesses in London.

TfL's grant funding from the Department for Transport has been reduced by £2.8bn over the course of TfL's Business Plan. The Transport Committee wants to know how the recent Spending Review will affect Transport for London’s (TfL) ability to function. The Committee will question:

Environmental pressures of London’s growth
Environment Committee - 2:00pm in the Chamber
The Committee will continue its investigation into the environmental impacts of London’s population growth. This session will explore the potential for a circular economy - one with maximum recycling of materials and minimum input and waste.
