In response to the news that the Mayor of London has selected London Community Land Trust to build 100 per-cent genuinely affordable homes on a TfL site on Cable Street, local London Assembly Member, Unmesh Desai AM said:
“I am absolutely delighted that 100 per-cent of homes on the Cable Street site will be genuinely affordable, and now that the successful bidder has been announced, building can start to progress.
“Freeing up TfL land for community-led housing schemes is one of the many ways the Mayor can tackle the acute housing crisis in our local area.
“It also helps to stem the tide of families, who are tied to the community, being forced out by exorbitant prices and rents.”
