This meeting took place on 9 March 2016. Read the transcript here.
The current Mayor was elected in 2008 on the back of environmental pledges to cut London’s carbon emissions by 60% by 2025, to reduce air pollution and to boost recycling[2].
The London Assembly Environment Committee has found that not all of the Mayor’s environmental targets are due to be met.
The Committee will hold the Mayor to account by questioning guests on promises made in his manifesto and strategies relating to:
- Reducing London’s carbon emissions
- Reducing London’s toxic air pollution
- Increasing recycling and reducing waste
The guests are;
- Matthew Pencharz, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy, GLA
- James Murray, Editor-in-Chief, BusinessGreen.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 9 March from 2.00pm in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed via webcast.
