London is seeing a record number of residential buildings over 20 storeys high.
There are more than 500 proposals going through the planning system.
The London Assembly Planning Committee will meet tomorrow to discuss whether these developments will meet London’s genuine housing needs and what the Mayor needs to do in his London Plan to make sure these provide decent homes for the future.
Key questions:
- What are the implications for the trends in London's tall buildings: their increasingly residential nature and the outward spread to the suburbs?
- How are London local authorities assessing applications and applying planning policy?
- Does the Mayor need to adopt a specifically 'residential' tall buildings policy?
