Of the National Crime Agency’s (NCA’s) 20 most wanted fugitives, six are known to be from or living in London [1]. The offences for which the individuals are wanted include drug trafficking and rape.
Although the Met does not publish an equivalent list, it regularly shares images of wanted individuals with links to serious allegations.
The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will tomorrow question the Metropolitan Police and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime on the Met’s wanted offenders.
Members will also ask questions on police misconduct and the vetting of officers in the UK’s largest police force.
Other topics include:
- Online activity and links to violence/extremism
- Use of facial recognition technology
The guests are:
- Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime
- Sir Stephen House QPM, Deputy Commissioner, Metropolitan Police Service
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 17 November 2021 from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
